Memory voltage

So i'm browing techbargains to find some new memory for laptops, does our 230 already on 1.35 or from the many threads I found, still at 1.5v. Any issue running these 1.35 ? Also curious if they work on x220 or x201.
And finally is it true that droping .15v can increase battery life ? can it increase that much that you notice ?

A-Data XPG Gaming Series 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3-1600 Laptop Memory $28.99 Free Shipping
Newegg has the A-Data XPG Gaming Series 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3-1600 PC3-12800 Notebook Memory (AXDS1600GC4G9-2)
These features a 1.35V and CAS latency of 9;
Many reviews note that they experience improved battery life thanks to the lower voltage and is a great upgrade for any gaming laptop.

Dropping voltage should increase battery life, specially if you have large amounts of memory, but not by much. Probably 5% or less. I'm not sure about the X230 but the X220 runs low voltage memory at 1.5v so it's pointless. Really, low voltage DIMMs are meant for different machines, probably Ultrabooks and other machines using low power chipsets which specifically support it.
I wouldn't waste my time if I were you, regular DIMMs work well and this machines are very power efficient already without tweaks.
EDIT: It seems like the X230 should support DDR3L... not confirmed, though.

My X230 came with 1.5V samsung installed. I bought 1 stick 1.35V, stuck it in there, and it works fine. Shows up in dual channel mode too using cpu-z.

Right, be cause you can over voltage the memory and not have problem. The question is that both stick are running at 1.5 or 1 @ 1.5 and 1 at 1.35. Ideally if you can run both sticks at 1.35, you might save power.
Now being that x230 may not benefit. I assume other notebook can benefit from 1.35v

My x230 came with 1 4Gb Samsung 1.35v stick. I checked Samsung and they didn't have a 8 Gb version so replaced it with 16Gb Crucial dual channel kit ( part number CT2946704 ) directly from Crucial. Price was about $10 more than couple other 1.5v options at the time. Order them directly from Crucial too.
The ram's spec is 1.35-1.5 and I had no idea at the time that x230 also shipped with 1.5v stick. My thought process was if it runs cooler and use a bit less battery and may be generate less heat, it's well worth the price of couple cups of coffee.
Here's the link of ram :

I keep wondering what kind of program *really* requires 16GB of RAM...

Onr is running at 1.35, the other at 1.5.

Abaqus/Explicit is one.
