Keyboard problems out of the box

New X230 showed up today, first ThinkPad I've personally owned. The machine seems nice overall, but the "R" key only works about 20% of the time. Huge bummer.
From Googling around, it sounds like the keyboard is easy to swap out, so I put in a call to IBM support to send out a replacement. No ETA on the part, though - sounds like it's backordered.
A bit disappointed right off the bat - any tips for successful resolution?

Welcome to thinkpads.com!
Patience
Seriously, give it a few days and let the cogs turn. If you still haven't heard from them or are getting the run-around, come back and we should be able to give you some more advice. On the other hand, you do realize that this forum is not a Lenovo-sponsored board, right? If you want to talk to the horse's mouth, try here:

Thanks for the encouragement
I figured I'd ask around here rather than the 'official' Lenovo forum - dunno which one is more appropriate at the end of the day for warranty / return advice.
The IBM service folks called their warehouse and found an alternate replacement part number in stock to ship today... if it works, great, I'll keep the thing - if not, it's still within the return window with Lenovo sales.

Replacement keyboard showed up this morning and all the keys appear to be functional; kudos to the IBM Service folks!
I was honestly impressed at how quickly they answered the phone, and also that the support center is based here in the U.S. Cool!
