fn keys on x230 not working

The Fn keys on my Thinkpad x230 stopped working. I checked settings involved with this and all are enabled correctly. Does anyone have any ideas I may try.

havve the same problem..any advice anybody? the F6, should invoke mic options, dead. F5, used to invoke camera settings, dead too...tried System Update, found no missing driver. Tried reinstall Ultra Nav, and something called Patch..no help...advice, anybody?

well I managed to solve this for the moment...after uninstalling and reinstalling Software Update, or System update, whatever, drivers for Ultra nav, Patches, Synaptics which did not help, I went to Services, and looked at all the ones that were Stopped or set to Disabled...found two, Lenovo Client Hotkey Loader, and PM service (power managemnt service) which were either Disabled, or Enabled but Stopped for some reason...I started them, and now it works.

no idea what stopped them in the first place, I did not , at least not knowingly.
