How to repair a minor indentation in the rubberized plastic?

#1 Post by timchang » Sun Jan 27, 2013 12:37 am

I've been owning a Thinkpad X230 for 2 months, and I suddenly noticed a slight indentation in the rubberized plastic on the top cover lid. It's a little surprising because I've been placing it inside a laptop sleeve for protection at all times. I could only suspect that that a friend may have somehow indented it when holding it.

Anyway, does anyone know any coating in the hardware store that could effectively rework that indentation? Even though there are X230 top lid covers are on sale in e-bay for not an expensive price, the effort to change the lid (not the LCD) is already too much. Yes, I may be picky here, but my old X201's top cover is immaculate.
