X230 RAM configuration and general advice

Hi guys,
What is the SODIMM configuration in an X230 that ships with 4GB RAM vs one that ships with 8GB RAM e.g. 2x 4GB or 1x 8GB?

4GB should be a single DIMM.
Odds are the 8GB will be 2x 4GB DIMMs unless you specifically ordered the single stick.

Thank you. Just want to advise my friend who has seen a nice X230 on Lenovo outlet, but would like to upgrade it from 4 to 8GB RAM. I have an X220 and have convinced him to get a ThinkPad
How does everyone find the X230 anyway? I love my X220!
