x230: wwan "free" but maybe later want mSATA?

#1 Post by iveand » Sat Feb 09, 2013 12:56 pm

The Lenovo site is saying the base wwan (3G not 4G) upgrade, with AT&T sim is a "free upgrade". Later I will likely go for a mSATA (I run linux and will try mSATA for my OS install), which as I understand will require me to remove the wwan module. Am I understanding correctly? Just wanting to make sure I am not preventing later install of mSATA by going for the wwan factory install.

You will have to remove the WWAN module, it's true. But the factory install will not matter. Nothing you choose will be irreversible.
