X230 audio problems

Clean install windows 7, fully up to date SW, realtek audio drivers.

Issue: Audio doesnt work. Uninstall from device manager, brings it back. Im assuming a base install of windows 7 will probably work just fine (default audio drivers). Fairly sure its not a HW issue as SW changes can bring it back to working.

Any ideas? Google search showed me various users showing similar, but figured I see if someone on here can chime in
