no keyboard backlit light

I can't activate the backlit light for the keyboard by pressing fn + space. It's not the most important feature, but it would have been nice if my refurbished X230 tablet had this feature.
Is it something I should have expected of a refurbished product?

Not a question of a refurbished product per se, but instead the keyboard backlight is an option.

Check the shipped parts list if you don't find the backlit keyboard in the product listing.

Just a few screws and you can replace the keyboard with a backlit keyboard.

thanks for the replies. I think I am good even without the backlit keyboard light. The feature probably wasn't meant to be included.
