X230 - Touchpad (Buttons) unprecise/ insensitive

#1 Post by derball2008 » Sun Oct 27, 2013 10:29 am

Hi,

I am a new X230-owner. Can't say that I am satisfied for now, but it definitely hasn't won me over by my first impression.
I'd like to use this opportunity to thank this nice community for the experiences the users shared. When I was googling around before buying my X230 I found many useful information on this site. Keep up the good work!

Now to my problem. I have the feeling that the touchpad and its buttons are unprecise and insensitive. I had to set the Sensivity to the maximum in order to work with the touchpad somehow (please don't tell me I should use the Trackpoint. I am used to the touchpad...)
But the buttons (under the touchpad) are worse. sometimes I have to strongly push the button to get a reaction. Besides, even when I clearly click the right button, it sporadically causes a left click. I mean, I can't expect the buttons to work sporadically. When I use the buttons I want to be sure that something happens when i click the button and not hoping for something to happen.

Do you experience the same issues? I will try to test some other X230s in the store in the next days and check if it's only my machine or if it's a general issue.

Thanks.

PS:
thought it would be useful if I made a video showing what I mean:

('primär' means primary, left click; 'sekundär' means secondary, right click)
