x230 with SSD 200+G Almost Full
I have a SSD on my x230. The drive is almost full. I ran Western Digital Smart Ware and it show the system files at 120G
How do I free up the hard drive. the break down is Docs 20G, Mail 2G Movies4.0G Music 5.1, other 4.4 and picutres 33.4
the systme 120G is the problem. suggestions

hard to tell, can you download treesize free and run a report, it'll give you detail directory info
Re: x230 with SSD 200+G Almost Full
Have you done a new windows install or service pack update? If so, you can run an elevated comnmand to clean out original windows -- will gain between 5 and 10 gb after cleanup. Do you have a limit on restore points? After awhile, unlimited restore points will also add up, and can be cleaned out.

My favorite Windows utility for visualizing disk usage is SequoiaView (free): http://w3.win.tue.nl/nl/onderzoek/onder ... quoiaview/

Re: x230 with SSD 200+G Almost Full
Just as a follow up... I was looking at the overall picture of the system. We have an administrator and another user. the bulk of the usage is in the administrator so I was wondering how much space is taken up with the other users.
Re: x230 with SSD 200+G Almost Full
If you got System Restore and Rescue & Recovery enable, and are not using them, you might want to disable them. That should free up some space.
