Installing an Intel 6300 Wifi card in an X230 with webcam

Hi,

I'm new, so my apologies if someone has asked this before. I'm looking to buy an X230, but I think I read somewhere that you cannot get an X230 with the Intel 6300 AND the webcam. Is this because the presence of both will conflict with each other? Am I able to get an X230 with a webcam, then open it up and replace the Wifi card with the Intel 6300 and have it work to its full capacity? Or is the X230 with webcam wired in such a way that having an Intel 6300 put in would be impossible?

I've searched everywhere for the answer to this question, but have not found the answer. Does anyone here know? Thanks!

The basic difference is that the 6300 has 3 antennae, while the 6200 has two. If you have the webcam it occupies the spot where the 3rd antennae would reside.

Thank you for your response!

Do you know what the main benefits are of 6205 vs 6300? I know speed is one of them, if you have a 450Mbps router, but how about range, signal strength, etc?

Also, do you know if I can install the 6300 on a camera-equipped X230 myself? I know that, due to the missing antenna in the screen, I wouldn't be able to use the 6300 to its full capacity, but do you think I would still notice an improvement in performance compared with the 6205?

Thanks very much!!
