X230 EEPROM location + introducing myself

#1 Post by elektrokid » Mon Dec 08, 2014 5:09 am

Hello,

this is this year's early Xmas present: elektrokid directly from Germany. I am an active member of Germany's thinkpad-forum and now looking for new horizons so here I am freshly arrived at thinkpads.com :D

And here is my question for I couldn't find any reliable help: I am looking for the eeprom chip in my X230. I am sure that it is the same location than within an X220 but would like to ask here if anybody can confirm this.
Second point is that I am not really sure about the type of the chip. Using a magifying lense I can read "6P08" and something like "IS01". Maybe somebody can confirm this, too?

I am looking forward to being part of this forum.

cheers from Germany___elektrokid

The eeproms in X220 and X230 have the same location and are both L08.
This is as far as we will go.

Hi and thank you for your answer (both of them ). I'd like to make a dump of the eeprom for comparison reasons.
