Your advice on X230 LCD repair

#1 Post by rainio » Tue Jan 13, 2015 7:34 am

Hello,
I've been trying to repair the LCD of a thinkpad x230. When trying to insert a slightly mangled LCD connector into the LCD screen, I saw a small spark twice (I think this was due to crossed wires within the LCD connector). Now the screen won't power up at all.
I've ordered a new LCD cable.

What do you think the chances are that the spark has fried something on the motherboard?

Thanks.

Very high. You've most likely blown a fuse on the board.

Good luck.
