X240 Freezes

#1 Post by tejoes67 » Mon Mar 30, 2015 3:03 am

About once a week or so my ThinkPad x240 freezes. It just completely locks up and requires a hard reset. The behavior does not seem related to time since the last reboot. It may happen a little more often when unplugging quickly from an external monitor, but not always. Is anyone else having a similar problem, or found a solution?

To start, I would burn a linux distro, such as linux mint, to a bootable usb or dvd, then try booting off of it. If you get the same freeze, then there may be an issue, like malware in windows, or a faulty drive. However, more tests need to be done to verify it.
