Hello, i noticed my main battery is dropping, i don't know from what to what but it's at least 35% sudden drop, maybe much more. Is it defective for good or i can try things to fix it?

Probably a bad cell in the battery. Getting a working new or used battery will fix the issue. Don't bother trying to open up the battery, as there is a 95% chance or bricking it.

It's not dangerous to use it still, right?

Before you trash, try recalibrate in PM menu.

I saw that option. I have to let the unit work during hour (without interfering) to recalibrate, right?

EDIT: well it seems same things happened with another brand new.. so it may not be the batteries..!?

Recalibrate both.

Yes, you have to leave the machine undisturbed while recalibrating.

Ok I'll try that now. Just tell me, what could cause such issue?

A laptop computer determines the state of charge by the voltage curve. As the battery discharges, the voltages drops. But the voltage curve changes over time. As a battery ages, the internal resistance increases. This causes the battery voltage to sag more quickly, even if the same amount of charge is available.

There is an electronic measuring device that would avoid this. It is called a couloumb meter. It actually measures the quantity of electrons passing through. With a coulomb meter, there would be much less error. But, it adds expense.

Many users report that their years-old batteries have not aged, and retain all the original capacity. They are deceived by the way capacity is measured. It is only determined during recalibration. In between calibrations, the displayed value of battery capacity is "what it was" when last calibrated, not what it is now.

Seems strange that brand new one'd doing this too. I'm thinking there may be an issue with the hardware somewhere else..?

Not strange. Makers advise recalibrate new battery.

Ok but as said it does it with both old & new battery, that happening at the same time is very strange!

Anyways, calibration of new battery is done, now i'm waiting it to discharge. I'm @85% & get a ~3h runtime.

Strange again compared to the review (notebookcheck) which report a ~5h battery life during regular surf (what i do now)..

The oldest battery.. I start test, it loads it until 99% then it days 1min remain before full list m load. That goes in for way too long, don't you think,
