Replacing non-Backlit X250 Keyboard with a Backlit model?

I have had my ThinkPad X250 for several months now, everything is working fine... except that the lack of ThinkLight (I used to have a X60s) had made it hard for me to work in the dark...

So I figured that I should get a replacement...

And this is what I've come across after some searching. Anyone who have an idea if this replacement will bring light to my world (LOL)?

The part you linked appears to be ok but it never hurts to double check the FRU number.

Have you taken a look at a youtube video showing this procedure, it's a lot of work.

I've done the same but on a T530 and T440 which are a lot more straight forward to swap out.

Bumping this topic. Did you manage to replace your keyboard with a backlit one?

I am also wondering if it is possible to replace a non-backlit keyboard with a backlit one and have the backlight work properly on the x250. In other words, do all the x250 motherboards have the right connectors to supply power to the backlight?

Thanks!

Yes, every X250 motherboard supports both non-backlit and backlit keyboards.
