Hi

it is a simple question but i somewhat cannot fetch the manual from the web site.

I wanna increase the memory of a x230 type 2325-78G.

It has 8GB at the moment (2x 4GB).

I'd like to know which memories are compatible and what is the max/Slot.

Enjoy your help!

Max. 2x8GB=16GB
204-pin PC3-12800 (DDR3-1600) non-parity, non-EEC SO-DIMM
Stay away from Corsair and Value RAM-modules.

DDR3-1600 1.5v , or , DDR3L-1600 1.35v

personally, i'd get the 1.35v because it uses less power and output less heat.

Hah, I just realised I have a 1,50v and a 1,35v module in my computer. The former is a Crucial 8gb module, and the latter a cheap skate 4gb Huyndai module.

Ram modules must run with the same speed and voltage,
when mixing ram, it runs with slowest speed, and highest voltage

i use HyperX Impact in my Alienware and have had great results with it....that's what i would recommend... at 1600mhz it runs 9-9-10 stock, comes in 8gb sticks

it can also be up-flashed with Thaiphoon Burner to a higher speed later...i upflashed mine from 1866 to 2133 and change timings...zero issues a year later

For my education, what's wrong with Corsair?

Don't take these postings as gospel they are old posts but certainly they are data points, fixed the google and added 2016 year to keep search current. Seems to see no problem this time.

Yet, I prefer to buy some OEM memory like micron and elpida, samsung and hynix if possible.
