X260 and WQHD via HDMI

#1 Post by thj » Tue Apr 05, 2016 1:43 am

Hello,

Quick question. Is the X260 able to run 2560x1440 at 60Hz via HDMI and/or Mini Display Port?
I'm currently testing with HDMI on a Dell U2713HM but with 1920x1080 as the maximum resolution.

Thank you!
Best regards

According PSREF

Max resolution:
4096x2304@60Hz (DisplayPort via Mini DisplayPort cable);
4096x2160@24Hz (HDMI)

But we know that it depends on BIOS/drivers that can be broken.

Let me ask then, if anyone has managed to get it working with HDMI and what driver version they are using?
Best regards

I'm interested in this as well, i.e., outputing WQHD via HDMI. Is this possible? Has anyone managed to get it to work?

The platform specs for the x260 state:

Max resolution:
3840x2160@60Hz (DisplayPort via Mini DisplayPort cable);
1920x1080@60Hz (HDMI)

Not sure where the figures that puppy quoted came from, but I can't seem to find them.

Just adding in one small piece into the jigsaw puzzle...

Think most (if not all) of Thinkpads still using HDMI v1.4 which maxes out refresh rate at 24-30 Hz.
So does X260 support WQHD via HDMI v1.4 at 24 Hz or not?

1) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI#Version_1.4
Quote:
"...HDMI 1.4 increases the maximum resolution to 4K × 2K, i.e. 4096×2160 at 24 Hz (which is a resolution used with digital theaters) or 3840×2160 (Ultra HD) at 24 Hz/25 Hz/30 Hz; ..."

2) Also, even Thinkpad Ultra Dock states it supports HDMI v1.4

(Thinkpad said that maximum resolution depends on your system specs, so does X260 support WQHD via HDMI v1.4 at 24 Hz or not?)
