X230 7-row keyboard problem

I've applied the common Embedded Controller patch (https://github.com/hamishcoleman/thinkpad-ec) and modified the X220 keyboard to not cause the electrical short as described in the wiki.

The keyboard itself is working very well, with the remapped special keys acting as they should. However, the trackpoint buttons are not registered at all. The original X230 keyboard's trackpoint continues to work fine.

At this point, I can't seem to put the original EC firmware back, so the laptop isn't really usable for typical use. By clearing the x230 patch directory, I was able to produce an image that would put back the original EC firmware so that I may at least continue using the original keyboard. Has anyone had these problems and dealt with them?

I thought the Trackpoint [mouse] buttons are controlled by the Synaptic drivers via the Windows Control Panel?

I use the old/dependable (but discontinued) KeyTweak to custom remap my X230 keyboard:
mainly to remap the [Right]+[Alt] into a Windows Key instead.

But this KeyTweak program cannot remap your Trackpoint [mouse] buttons.

In fact, I would suspect that all Mouse Buttons (which include the Trackpoint ones) are to be controlled by the Synaptic drivers via the Windows Control Panel. Good luck!
