x230 should both battery retaining latches have springs?

#1 Post by rasz_pl » Wed Feb 01, 2017 9:34 pm

Just received hand me down x230 and latch 1 feels weird without a spring (Im used to T series).

No mention of springs in the manual. Found Miscellaneous service parts - ThinkPad X220
https://support.lenovo.com/documents/migr-77195
this only lists one spring, same with ebay replacement latches.
This feels a little shoddy :(

Welcome to the forum. :)

Latch 1 is actually not a latch - it's a lock switch. So no spring in it.
