Ignore mistaken message about X240s batteries!

#1 Post by Edward Mendelson » Fri Jul 14, 2017 6:34 am

EDIT: Apologies for wasting bandwidth. I asked a stupid question about the X240s because I didn't realize that one of the batteries on the machine I just bought was dead. (The X240s doesn't have a removable rear battery, so I stupidly thought it didn't have one at all...)

There is no Battery #2 in this machine, and never was and never can be, so this message isn't helpful.
Are you absolutely sure about this?

The ThinkPad X240s uses 2 3-cell batteries and borrows a lot of the design of the ThinkPad X240. But to fit it in a thinner chassis, Lenovo has to sacrifice the removeable battery, and equipped the X240s with a second 3-cell battery instead.

You're absolutely right: I got confused by the fact that the second battery isn't removable. The problem seems to be that the battery is merely dead, and was dead when the machine reached me. Time for a replacement...

Thanks for clarifying!
