X230 battery severely degraded?

My X230 battery has a problem.

I has had the same usage over the last few years as my X220. My X220 reports a capacity of about 65% of original capacity or 65wh. My X230 on the other hand reports a capacity of 2wh out of 63wh. 3% of original design capacity for a 3 1/2 year old battery is pathetic. My T40 6 cell has a better capacity than that. Has anyone seen such abysmal performance before?

Batteries are usually a hit-n-miss.

What are the FRUs and the manufacturers of your batteries?

Try running a battery gauge reset. It may be reading wrong and you can get it to update to a correct capacity which can be slightly higher (but don't expect miraces).

Hello, my name is Diego and I recently joined the forum, bought a beautiful x230 weeks ago and the battery is obviously degraded. How can I do a battery reset in Windows 10? look for the option in the control panel and not find it. I know that in Windows 7 there was this option, unless the process you mention is another. (Sorry for my english)

In Windows 10 you need to have the Lenovo Settings application installed (you can get it from the Windows store). There, in the 'Battery Settings', you can scroll down to find 'Battery Gauge Reset'.
