X240 FHD Cable
X240 FHD Cable
Hello,
I am looking to upgrade my ThinkPad X240 screen to an FHD IPS panel (00HM745 !?).
I have this panel installed, LP125WH2(TP)(H1) P/N: 0C00319 FRU: 04X0325. My question is, do I have to buy another cable or the one installed will work?
Cheers.

Re: X240 FHD Cable
Welcome to the Forum.
Get the 00HM745, the (older) 00HM111 has ghosting problems
The X240 FHD screens need one of these eDP cables: 0C46007, 00HM134 or 00HM135.
If your current cable is 0C46006, 04X0877 or 04X0878 you'll need one of the above.

Re: X240 FHD Cable
Thank you.
There was a sticker over the sticker with the reference preventing me from identifying the cable.
Turns out I have a SC10A39905 cable, witch after searching seems to be the 00HM134.

Re: X240 FHD Cable
What happens if I don't replace the cables? I replaced the display and it seems to work fine, but the brightness is locked at 100%...is that a side effect of using the original cable?

Re: X240 FHD Cable
That means you may not have received an original Lenovo screen 00HM745.
Could have a fake sticker.
Read out the EDID chip and/or check the LCD with HWInfo, to see what you really have.

Re: X240 FHD Cable
I agree. I did the same mod with a genuine 00HM745 screen and the original lead...and everything works.RealBlackStuff wrote:That means you may not have received an original Lenovo screen 00HM745.
