X230's on NewEgg.com

#1 Post by swallman » Fri Jul 27, 2018 3:27 pm

I'm looking to pickup a refurb'd X230 and I see Newegg carries a number of them. Anyone have luck purchasing from them? How can you tell if you'll get an IPS panel or not? They don't seem to list serial or model numbers anywhere...

I was really considering them when I was looking to buy my x230t, but the fact that they don't have anything that they can rate as a grade A is a little bit discouraging. If you look at their listings on eBay they have everything either listed as a Grade B or grade C. I can tell you from personal knowledge that the US Military bought a crap ton of these for desk jockeys and Supply personnel. I would not be surprised if the reason Newegg has such a large quantity is because they probably bought them at Government auction

These are third-party refurbs, always have been on New Egg.

I'd steer clear of them.
