X230T webcams and Windows 10.

#1 Post by Thinkpad4by3 » Fri Sep 21, 2018 10:14 pm

Pretty self-explanatory. Installed drivers, tried a half dozen things. Still won't show up in Device manager and the green light is on all the time.
Thinkpad4by3's Law of the Universe.

The efficiency of two screens equally sized with equal numbers if pixels are equal. The time spent by a 4:3 user complaining about 16:9 is proportional to the inefficiency working with a 16:9 display, therefore the amount of useful work extracted is equal.

Have you uninstalled/reinstalled the Lenovo Communications Utility? I assume that might've been one of the "half dozen things" you've tried.

This might be a long shot, but check the Power Management driver. I recently had a very vexing problem with it on my X230T with Windows 7 in that it screwed up the OSD (Onscreen Display) and also blocked accessibility to the Communications Utility. I downgraded to the previous version of the PM driver and everything worked again. I don't know if the Windows 10 version is afflicted with the same issue, but might be worth investigating.
