X240- what could I do with it?

#1 Post by Geartooth » Wed Oct 17, 2018 6:33 am

I recently found a X240 on my Local Classifieds, going for $165 USD. Usually they are $267 over here, so I'm thinking of jumping on it. How hard would it be to Swap in X250Pad+1080P Screen? and which Screens should I look out for? Battery Life and Weight has recently become important for me, and I don't need as much Power coming from the CPU.
Your local Pony.

Both are easy enough, get their HMM (see HMM link above)
For clunkpad, see this: viewtopic.php?f=69&t=126967
You need to remove the back-panel and the internal battery that covers the touchpad-bay.
There are several different ways of removing/replacing that pad, depending on which X240 model you get.
Show us a picture when you got it, and then we'll tell you more. Either method is easy enough.

For HD IPS, look for 04X0437 ( LP125WH2-SPT1 )
For FHD IPS, look for (non-touch version of) 00HM745 ( LP125WF2-SPB2 ), also used in X250.
Make sure you get that exact screen, not some "compatible".

FYI: I have an X240 with X250 touchpad for sale here: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=127217
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)
