X250: 2100: Detection error on HDD0

Kid's school computer threw this out yesterday. Won't boot to Windows.

No new installations, upgrades, or anything like that.

Hit some key sequence (forgot and the machine isn't in front of me) to get to diagnostics. Everything self-tested A-OK.

I did some googling and searching here and I'm seeing fixes that range from "get a new drive" to "place two cotton pads from the ones used to remove make up below the HDD" (source: https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/471 ... otherboard)

What's the cause and the fix? I'm not above spending some time or money to fix this nice little machine, but I want to do it right.

Probably a dead drive, if not a dead drive then something is wrong with the board.

Yeah, it's probably a HDD (hard drive).

Trust that you've had data backup.
Our own user-replaced SSD on our own X250 is also showing occasional error same as yours.

Confirmed SSD is dead. At least it's an easy fix.

Thanks all.
