Auto-Rotate for x230t in Win 10: change only tablet rotation

#1 Post by divB » Thu Mar 26, 2020 5:22 pm

I have read that Auto-Rotate requires APS. I just installed the latest version from: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds014892
After installing (and reboot) I do nowhere see any icons (neither in the start menu nor control center). All I see are three small files (TpShocks.exe e.g.) in c:\Program Files\ThinkPad.

UPDATE: For some weird reason the icon "Lenovo - Airbag Protection" showed up when I installed the previous version (https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/mobiles/n1msk10w.exe). Additionally I had to install the ThinkVantage Shortcut Menu. Then the automatic rotation randomly started working (it did not work initially!).

Now I have the following issue: The autorotation seems to operate on the primary display rather than the internal display. This is a terrible nuisance if I have the laptop in my docking station connected to an external monitor. I then switch frequently between tablet/non tablet mode and my external monitor rotates and it's a hassle to rotate it back.
  • Is there a way to fix this that the internal display (Display number: 1) is rotated?
  • If not, is there at least a way to call an external program/script instead? A hidden registry key or so? Then I could use iRotate.exe /1:rotate=180
Thank you!
