X230T random reboot problem

Hi,

I've been trying to diagnose the problem my X230T has developed recently where it will hard reset at random, I'd guess on average maybe once every 4-5 hours of use. Checking event viewer in windows I can see error 41 (kernal-power).

So far I have tried:

• Reapplying new thermal compound between the CPU and heatsink

• Cleaning the terminals of both the RAM and Wifi card with alchohol

• Swapping the RAM with that from my X230.

• Running the computer without the battery in (just on AC).

I'll be sad if this laptop has died, I have had it from new and it's probably the only time in my life I'll spend that sort of money on a laptop. Is there anything else I can try?

Have you run several passes of memtest86+?

I've run through 2 passes now since seeing your suggestion this morning. The first finished after 1:30, the second after 5:30. not sure why it was so much slower the second time through but no errors seen.
