x230 backlit keyboard compatibility?

Hi all,

I recently bought a Thinkpad x230. I still don't have it with me because it will take at least ten days to get here.

In the meantime, I started looking around for spare parts, and found a private seller with a backlit keyboard that looks compatible with the x230, or at least for what I understand.

I reached out to him and he asked me if I am 100% sure that the keyboard is compatible with my model, this because he was sure it was compatible with his Thinkpad L530 but then discovered the incompatibility.

Is it possible to understand from the pictures if this keyboard is compatible with the x230 model?

Have the seller take a close-up picture of the label in the back so you can read the FRU number.

Then compare it with the FRU listings for the X230, T430, and T530. If it matches any of those, it will work with your X230.

That KB rear-picture looks different from an X230 KB.
L530 and X230 use totally different P/N or FRU, so most likely it will NOT fit on X230.

I asked him to send me a close-up photo of the rear and I'm waiting for that.
From what I can read, even though it's barely readable, the FRU appears to be 04x1257, which is present in this list

and therefore, according to this list on Lenovo website, should be compatible.
However, I await a response from the seller.
