Thinkpad X230 does not recognize new WLAN card

#1 Post by ThinkpadLover230 » Thu Nov 25, 2021 2:17 pm

Hello Community,

I own a Thinkpad X230 with a Centrino Advanced-N 6205 WLAN card. I have now purchased a new WLAN card from ALFA Network called AWPCIE-AX200U. https://www.alfa.com.tw/products/awpcie ... 3965805640

Before that I jailbroken my BIOS with 1vyrain to remove the whitelist.

I have now installed the new card and plugged in the two pins exactly as they were in the old Centrino card. I also removed the bluetooth daughter card.

My Windows 10 does not recognize my card. It does not show it in the device manager. I am connected to LAN right now.

What could be the reason for this? I made sure that the new card is a half-size mini PCIe card. I searched everything in my new BIOS that looks like WLAN - I figured I had to enable the card somehow first. But I found nothing.

Many greetings, ThinkpadLover230

It's possible that the card you received is defective. Have you tried it in another laptop?
Planned Purchase: T480s i5-8350 FHD Touch
Impulse Buy: Thinkpad not named for safety reasons
