X230 board not booting after repasting

#1 Post by somuchpain » Wed Apr 13, 2022 1:18 pm

Hello. I tried repasting my X230's CPU but now it won't boot. The only signs of life are when connecting to the LCD assembly where the power LEDs turn on when connecting a charger. Am I completely screwed? What can I try? Thank you in advance :)

It sounds like you tried to re-connect the LCD while under power. Is this the case?

No, I didn't. Maybe it wasn't clear in the post; I tried plugging and unplugging the charger or battery and that caused the correct LED "animation" in the back of the LCD unit.

Update: I just turned on the board somehow.. standalone connected to an external display. I haven't been able to reproduce it again I suspect there's some screw or something in the motherboard that is causing weird behavior. What can I do?
