X230T Whitelist? BIOS upgrade?

I just got a different X230T with a good port and seems to be in great shape.

First, is the Intel AC 7260 (2.4GHz & 5GHhz) card better than the existing Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 in the X230T?

If so, I would like to install an Intel AC 7260 (2.4GHz & 5GHhz) card in place of the existing Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205.

For one reason, the existing Bluetooth in the X230T does not work very well with my Bluetooth receivers.

Assuming that the X230T has a whitelist, is there a BIOS update which will allow me to install the AC 7260 would someone (RBS) provide a link to it?

Finally, is the Intel AC 7260 (2.4GHz & 5GHhz) card the best card for the X230T?

For instance, will the Intel Wireless-AC 9260 work?

Ivyprep + 1vyrain from the T430 forum.

After that you can install AC-7260.
AC-9260 needs W10 64-bit, maybe try an AX200 (wifi-6) instead.

I am running Windows 10 64-bit.
I will check out T430 forum.
Thank you!

Well I stumbled my way through the process of Ivyprep and 1vyrain and everything seems to be working great. I installed the Intel AC 7260 wifi card and the newest Bluetooth Daughter card. And Bluetooth is definitely better!

Update: This morning I used Lenovo Vantage to update the drivers. And now the Bluetooth is acting choppy again.

Any suggestions how I can get last night's Bluetooth drivers back?

Update: Went into Device Manager and deleted Bluetooth then restarted and scanned for hardware changes and Bluetooth is working perfectly again.

In the future - please refrain from posting the same thing in multiple threads. You essentially posted the same post 3 times, then replied to it 3 times. :BAAAD!:

Intel 7260AC is the last model officially made by Intel in mPCIe format.
Later models are only available in M.2/NGFF, and the antenna connectors are also different.
It's possible to use these cards using an adapter that also converts the antenna connectors.
There are also unofficial cards with Intel chips but in mPCIe format, available from China.
Intel AX210 is already available. I'm using such card, bought on AliExpress, on my W530.
And the original Intel one with an adapter in my X230.

Thank you for the info. I changed from 7260 to AX210 as well, and after physically removing the BT daughter card and scanning for hardware changes in device manager, everything is working great now.

Nice to hear it's working fine for you.
Btw, on W530 to make AX210's Bluetooth work, I had to go to BIOS settings, Advanced menu, somewhere under one of the submenus there is a USB ports configuration, with one of the ports Disabled, I switched that one to Enabled. It seems like the WLAN part of the AX210 is using the PCIe lanes of the mPCIe slot, and the BT part is using the USB lanes (hopefully I'm using the right terminology) of the slot, which on W530 are apparently disabled via a BIOS setting.

I have two new to me X230 Tablets on which I want to delete the BIOS whitelist.

Is there a newer or different way to do this or should I just follow the instructions at the top of this thread?
