Long-term impact of keeping clock speed at 3.1

#1 Post by TOTAL » Fri Nov 25, 2022 6:00 am

Those of you who have long-term experience, does keeping clock at high speed reduce the lifetime of either mobo or cpu?
I am finding that the opposite extreme, i.e. 1.2 shows in a drop in efficiency of browsing - pages take longer to show up, so high clock speed feels reasonable unless it is harmful for the system.

What is your approach?

As long as the temps are fine, I see no problem.

Great to know. With fan set to 7 non-stop, temp ranges between 38 idle and late 50s. Knowing it is about temperature essentially, I don't mind the steady noise. Thanks
