No context menu key on new w530?

On my new w530 with a Norwegian keyboard there is no key for the context menu. My Norwegian keyboard on the T61 has got one. On the w530 the "PrtSc" key occupies this spot.

Where is this key? And what is Lenovo smoking these days? ;)

It is not on there :(

This was one of the reasons that I just ordered a W520. Not sure what lenovo is thinking.

That is a key that I use as well as some of the others that they moved around.

I hope they offer the original keyboard as an option before I need another notebook.

Nobody seems to understand why they switched to a 6-row keyboard. The most likely explanation to me is cost control.

Anyway: I made the same point on NBR. Apparently Shift + F10 does the same. That is... unless in the place you need the menu key the shift already has a function.

I am not happy about this.

The other keys moving is something I can get used to perhaps - but keys missing on a professional laptop? :BAAAD!:

Looks like this will be my last Thinkpad. :(

I guess it is not possible to swap the keyboard myself? The 520 keyboards are probbly not compatible?

They are, but until there is a modified BIOS not 100%.

I was having the same problem with my T430.
You can use the "keytweak" app to get the keys re-mapped on your new Keyboard.

Better than nothing but remapping is no substitute for actual keys; which other key functions do you give up in order to get the Windows key or embedded numpad keys back?

Well, you can press "shift + F10" to open the context menu in mostly applications instead of that button. I think there is no way that Lenovo will bring back conventional keyboard, so we may have to get used to it.

Anyway, in the explorer you have to press "ctrl + shift + F10" to open the context menu instead of those above. Someone might ask why do we have to put this effort instead of mouse clicking, well, there are many situations that we cannot use mouse, and these buttons give us survival even we have to press more buttons than conventional keyboard.

SOLVED: I got my context menu key back (between the right alt and ctrl keys) by using autohotkey. I just followed the directions for where to place the script file and it worked like a charm. Took about five seconds once I had the correct script which is:

PrintScreen::AppsKey

That's it and I've got my context menu key back!! Also, the print screen function still works. Since one must press Alt and PrSc to capture the screen, that shortcut is unaffected.
