If I remove a key from the w530 keyboard, will it be a permanent removal that damages the key? I am absolutely frustrated by the pg up and pg dn keys so close to the arrow keys, that i always press instead of the arrows, so I'd like to remove these keys.

If done carefully (normally) nothing will be damage. Just don't lose the keycaps.

Removing the keycap and scissor assembly (AKA, pantograph) may still not prevent accidental pressing of the key. Most keyboard designs have a rubber or silicone dome over the electrical contacts. If pressed hard enough, it will still send the PageUp or PageDown signal. A perhaps more easier and cleaner solution would be to use a keyboard remapping utility to change the function of those two keys. You could have them duplicate the arrow key functions or set them to do nothing.

Consider using AutoHotKey to remap those keys to no function.
