How can I utilize the smart card reader?

#1 Post by sergeydgr8 » Fri Jul 12, 2013 12:37 am

I just recently found out that the W530 can read smart cards (aka plastic cards that have chips on them). However, after lots and lots of research I can barely find any software that will read that kind of data. Is there any software that can utilize the reader? It'd be interesting to see what kind of data my Student ID card has.

The smartcard reader can be used as an additional level of security, such that the user needs to put in his card (typically his badge), and provide a password. More information about smartcards in general can be found at: url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smart_card]
