W530, Asus PB287Q, nVidia Driver

I have a W530 and just last week got the Asus PB287Q monitor ($649). 4K is REALLY nice. The display was only being driven at 30Hz. So SystemUpdate said there was a new driver for the K1000K chipset. I loaded that and got 60Hz - but max resolution is FHD (1920x1080). Sooo, I did a roll-back of the driver. Now it won't go into 4K resolution and only at 30Hz. :(

Old driver: 10/31/2013 .. 9.18.13.1270
New driver: 4/8/2014 .. 9.18.13.3302

NVIDIA Control Panel version: 7.5.800.0

Any ideas? Anyone know of a better driver to use?

nVidia and I are still in discussion. What we think is going on is that the mini-DisplayPort to HDMI cable isn't good enough quality to handle the data. When I dock my W530 on my docking station (which has the DisplayPort), I can see 4K that way (through the DisplayPort). I have yet to see 4K through any HDMI connection. My desktop video card has HDMI but is too old and won't drive it. The mini-to-HDMI evidently can't drive it. So I've only seen 4K through my display port connection - both from the dock and from a W520 that I have.

I'll try to keep this post updated ..

I think you have to be on displayport 1.2 to get 4k at 60hz. I have this monitor and the default is displayport 1.1 which isn't enough. Also I don't think I have any hdmi cable that can run 4k at 60hz and only displayport with do that resolution.
