Can I clone the recovery USB drive?

#1 Post by blgaarder » Wed Jul 13, 2016 9:18 am

I have read about the limitation on creating more than one recovery drive.

Can I use something like the clone function of Macrium to copy it to another flash drive?

Thanks

To answer my own question:

I used Acronis to clone the recovery flash drive.

Macrium didn't seem to want to clone a flash drive.

You can make multiple recovery USB drives, you only get the one prompted chance.

Just follow the user guide (P50) for Windows 10.

1. Connect a proper USB drive (at least 16 GB of storage).
2. Type recovery in the search box on the taskbar. Then click Create a recovery drive.
3. Click Yes in the User Account Control window to allow the Recovery Media Creator program to start.
4. In the Recovery Drive window, follow the on-screen instructions to create a recovery USB drive.
