Analog (VGA) external monitor as default screen on W530

#1 Post by FryPpy » Sat Apr 22, 2017 4:36 pm

I am doing classic keyboard mod on my W530. While i modded palmrest i have stripped W530 up. removed keyboard, palmrest and display. And when i desided to apply BIOS mod i connected external monitor with VGA cable. Stated Thinkpad and nothing came to screen. Connected back Thinkpad LCD and found that there is no options in BIOS for Boot Display Device (only Thinkpad LCD is here). Have upgraded to 2.65 BIOS version and still have no options. Applyed BIOS mod for classic keyboard and now i am thinking is there any chance that in last official 2.66 BIOS they added analog VGA as boot display.

On the other hand on X230 (with keyboard mod too;) there is "Analog VGA" option in BIOS. And even Fn+F7 can switch displays.
