W540 Touchpad Mod Issue

I bought this for my ThinkPad W540 http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-For-LENOVO- ... tons-Key-/. When I got it and put it in, it didn't work. Now, even with the old trackpad, neither Windows nor Linux will recognize the touchpad. If I go to the Device Manager in Windows, I have to show hidden devices to get it to show. It won't work no matter how many drivers, BIOS resets, CMOS battery resets, unplugging and replugging I do. The device manager gives me the error 24. I have some doubts if the trackpad is real or not, because it seems as if there are air bubbles beneath the surface. Any help?
