Thinkpad W530 Docking station MiniDock Plus Series 3

#1 Post by MagnaHol » Tue Nov 21, 2017 11:05 am

Has anyone ever used the Audio Microphone In and Audio Headphone Out ports? I can not get mine to work. My USB headset (connected to the docking station) works but the Audio headset does not work. I do not see anything for the Audio ports in Device Manager nor the Sound module in the Control Panel. Are they there only for "looks"?

Welcome to the forum.

Does the sound still come out of the laptop speakers / laptop headphone jack when docked? If so, make sure that the correct audio driver from the manufacturer (not the generic Microsoft driver) is installed. I've had similar issues with a T410 running Win10 and an X220 running Win8.1.

The sound does come out of the laptop's speakers.

It looks like there are 6 devices listed:
1. Speakers (High Definition Audio Device)
2. Headphones (High Definition Audio Device)
3. Speakers (Logitech USB Headset H540)
4. NVIDIA HDMI Output (Port 0)
5. NVIDIA HDMI Output (Port 1)
6. NVIDIA HDMI Output (Port 2)

My guess is that the High Definition Audio Device is the Microsoft driver.
The NVIDIA HDMI Output devices are from the on board video adapter driver.

Maybe I don't know which driver is supposed to be used for audio on my laptop.

I believe you are right. Your audio device is Realtek. Try this driver:
