Can a W541 handle a 4940MX or will it throttle fast under sustained loads?
Hi, I'm not familiar with W541 specifically but I was under impression Thinkpad BIOS-es typically wouldn't let you take advantage of unlocked multiplier of the extreme series processors

Age of Empires II crashed (again) today
curious if 32GB would help instead of 16GB.
No idea, comrade! That would be specific to the game itself and you'd need advice from people familiar with the game not from people familiar with Thinkpads :)

I may have heard of something like a 7% improvement at most. I have one with the XM chip and although this may not say much, it doesn't feel quite as fast on the desktop as my PC with a pentium G4560 (7th gen dual core 3.5ghz).
W541 - i7-4940mx, 8gb RAM, Quadro k2100m
T530 - i7-3632qm, 8gb RAM, NVS 5400M; motherboard upgrade from t520.
T430 - i5-3320m, 4gb
T430s - i7-3520m, 8gb
Helix 1st Gen - i5-3337u 4gb
Other experience with X230t and t540p
I am 15 years old
