Physical Mouse Button Problem
Hello everyone!
I just bought a Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 14 from Best Buy after much research. I absolutely LOVE this machine except that my most frequently used mouse button (the left mouse physical hardware button) has gotten a whole lot less "clicky" and sometimes even gets stuck.
My question is - is this serious? Should I go back to best buy to replace this thing or can I simply just pry off the mouse button and check to see if there's dirt under there? I don't want to take a jackhammer to my TrackPad just yet without the blessing of you lovely knowledgeable forum dwellers.
Thanks in advance for all your help.
Love, Mitch.

Re: Physical Mouse Button Problem
Welcome to the forum.
Since when does the Yoga have physical mouse buttons?
They are an integrated part of the touchpad.
And if that stops working to your liking, try warranty, don't try taking it apart!

Since 2015, as the TrackPoint buttons are no longer part of the TouchPad (as on all newer ThinkPads).Since when does the Yoga have physical mouse buttons?

@OP,
try warranty.

Re: Physical Mouse Button Problem
Thanks for the replies guys!
The mouse button is a hardware button and not part of the glass area of the mousepad. I've determined that theres stuff under there (maybe some eraser shavings since I'm always erasing stuff while working on homework) so I should probably just buy a duster or something.
I really depend on this laptop so I can't afford to send it out for warranty stuffs, I'm gonna research how I can clean out this mouse button.
Thanks again!

Hello fellow San Diegan!
I'd say some canned air should do the trick, I would put my palm on the buttons just in case the pressurized air will plow them off.
I doubt it, but better safe than sorry.

I use a similar method when cleaning laptop keyboards, trackpoint buttons included.Saucey wrote:I'd say some canned air should do the trick
I use something like this:
while setting the keyboard/ or the laptop itself at various angles (including upside down) to get as much dirt out as possible.
