Pen Pro and Bamboo Smart for Yoga 14?

#1 Post by mgfx » Wed Oct 26, 2016 5:41 pm

I recently purchased the Thinkpad Yoga 14 (Best Buy version of the Yoga 460) and looking to upgrade the active pen for something a bit bigger than the included stylus. Lenovo's Pen Pro is listed as compatible but I was also wondering about the Wacom Bamboo Smart for 2-in-1s. The Bamboo doesn't show the Thinkpad 14 or 460 but the entire list of compatible devices is also included on the Lenovo Pen Pro list. This would make be believe it might work since they obviously share the same tech.

Hi. So I have both now. They are very similar. Both worker immediately after inserting battery. The Bamboo 2 in 1 has a cap that snaps over the top when not in use. And it feels a bit heavier. It comes with different nibs and a nib removal tool as well. The button are a bit recessed which allow you to feel them easier without looking.
I don't think you could go wrong with either. I plan to carry the Wacom pen and keep the stylus in the Thinkpad Yoga 14 as an emergency back up.
