X1 Yoga Screen rotation
X1 Yoga Screen rotation
Dear all,
I have been a long time Thinkpad user but I feel really let down by Lenovo.
Having bought a officially refurbished, factory sealed X1 Yoga a year ago I feel it could have been my last Thinkpad. After a X41T, X61T, T60, X201T etc.
It was in repair 3 times, 2 times a motherboard has been replaced and the last time the fingerprint reader.
When it came out of depot the third time it was out of warranty, also thanks to Lenovo for making a mistake in altering the serial number after a motherboard for the second time.
Now it is back and it doesn't rotate the screen any more, no 'tent mode', no tablet mode etc.
Lenovo simply refuses to assist me further, only offering a repair I would have to pay for.
I am appalled by their service, anybody else had this so bad?
Or anyone who could help me, since it could also be a software issue?
Thanks in advance, I feel like throwing it out of the window sometimes.

Re: X1 Yoga Screen rotation
Windows 10 Pro, as was installed. I already did a clean factory install and ran all the updates. Nothing. Its says 'autorotate' in the screen when turning, it switches to tablet mode, it just does not turn the screen. So that to me looks like the sensor might be working?

Re: X1 Yoga Screen rotation
This is typical for Lenovo and touchscreen devices, nobody has ever tested it before release to customers.
Get Sensor Diagnostic Tool from Windows SDK and check whether the orientation sensor works. I think that all the hardware fixes were unnecessary because most of issues comes from crappy Lenovo drivers and firmware. Instead of proper diagnostic Lenovo replaces hardware components here and there without any clue
Have you installed latest drivers via Lenovo System Update?

Hello, how did you solve the problem in the end? I am having the same issue...
Microsoft SensorExplorer app does not detect any sensor at all.
Thanks!
