Yoga 910 high ram usage

#1 Post by cfds » Tue Nov 02, 2021 1:33 pm

I noticed this a while ago and that was the main reason I got the yoga 930 with 16GB RAM...
Now that I upgraded the SSD and started using this laptop again I notice again the high RAM usage...comparing for example the X250 I am using to post this topic is currently at 53%, I have opera (4 tabs) open and palemoon with 1 single tab.
The yoga 910 is at 67% with only opera (4tabs) open...
I have deactivated all unwanted apps during startup, deleted all the windows bloatware, basically al my laptops are running the same software.
All my lenovo's have 8GB RAM, the only one with 16 is the C930 but only the 910 is RAM hungry...

Any tips or something I over looked?

Thx

Maybe you should look into Padmasana? 8)

Press Ctrl/Alt/Del and open Task Manager.
Select Processes, then click on the Memory column header once or twice, to get the highest RAM user at the top.

The above is for W7, dunno if that still applies in W10/W11.

Under Win 10 its RH mouse click on the win logo - task manager - the open window shows you processes and under this you have among CPU and memory and like you said the high consumers are on top of the list. Compared these between the 910 and the X250...not a big difference just that the 910 is running a lot more than the X250.
Nothing seems to stick out and so far my laptop has not been slow so I guess I should not worry to much?

I am selling the 910 as I have to many laptops...although I really should sell the 930 due to poor battery life and poor build quality. Nothing beats the older Lenovo's!
