Hi,
I upgraded my Windows 7 X1 Carbon to Windows 10. I forgot to delete the 16 GB recovery partition (Q: Lenovo_Recovery) beforehand, so I would like to do that now. Am I right to assume that I can just format that partition with the standard Windows tool just like I would any other partition?
There also seems to be a second recovery partition with 477 MB, 100% empty. Can anyone tell me what that one does?
Thanks in advance for any help!
Best,
torus
Deleting recovery partition
Re: Deleting recovery partition
You can delete the Lenovo recovery partition (16gb) and then extend your main partition, but don't touch the secondary recovery partition. It is likely the 'system reserved' partition and contains boot configuration and bitlocker startup files. Not sure why it would be empty, but leaving alone is a good caution and it only takes up 477MB anyway.
Current Thinkpads: W530 (functional classic keyboard mod), X301, T61, T60, T43, T23, 600X, 770

Re: Deleting recovery partition
Thanks a lot for the quick reply! I deleted the 16gb partition without problems and will keep the 477mb one.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
