T60p Microsoft basic display adapter

#1 Post by jekemi2013 » Fri Jun 24, 2016 9:02 am

I'm running the latest build of Win 10 (14372) on my Lenovo Thinkpad T60p with 4 GB memory and an SSD. Runs great, fast, everything works except Win10 installed the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter, which doesn't allow you to run both main screen and 2nd monitor. When you can get a 2nd monitor to run nothing on the laptop screen and you can't adjust the image on the 2nd monitor. How do I get a video driver that is built for the T60p that is Win 10 compatible?

Did you try a Vista/W7 compatible driver from Lenovo by chance?

The only other thing I can think of is to determine what the graphics card is in your model (Intel GMA, ATI etc) and check the mfg for a Win7/8/10 driver.
R500, X300, R60.

In various states: T520, X60T, R61, R40 1.5, upcoming R/T61 Frankenpad

AFAIK, there isn't one. The very last driver for V5200/5250 cards found in T60p was the Vista one, and I believe that it can't be tweaked to work under W10.
