Windows 10 audio jack detection issues and my experiences...

#1 Post by TonyJZX » Sat Jul 16, 2016 12:32 am

I have denied all Win10 free upgrades. However my kids laptop got upgraded which pretty much says it all... if you're a information tech professional like myself you're all good but if you're just a 'user' then welcome to an unwelcome Win10 upgrade.

I dont have problems with my kids machine which is a T61 or T400 but the only problem I came across is that jack detection is non existent. You have to tell it to use jack or speaks which no one will no how to do unless you're a professional.

I see this on multiple machines so its a common thread.

Also I have two machines that I tried Win10 on. On my Dell e6400 its as perfect as it gets. One driver fixed up pretty much everything.

My HP 6930p not so good. There's so much custom hardware on board eg. the fingerprint h/w is controlled by a company that is now owned by apple so no drivers.

This unit is probably going back to Win7.
